Fides on Kangaroo Beach is a much loved family owned holiday home elevated above Kangaroo Beach and positioned on a beautiful section of Kangaroo Islands north western coastline. Containing 4 bedrooms (predominately with water views),
3 bathrooms and fully contained facilities, Fides is perfect for independent travellers looking for a self catered luxury getaway.
Built in 2010 and formally one of three lodges managed under Kangaroo Beach Lodges (a luxury holiday accommodation business), Fides is now independently managed offering the personalised comforts of home.
Surrounded by a working cattle farm, access is uniquely via private property allowing guests the privilege of being one of few to enjoy the diverse landscape and secluded Kangaroo Beach.

ECO/SUSTAINABLE BUILD
Fides on Kangaroo Beach was designed by award-winning architects Troppo, whose focus on sustainability has enabled us to make the most of the unique location of the lodge to provide cooling/heating. In the warmer months, the large breezeway and the carefully placed windows can be opened to draw cool breezes through the house and there are ceiling fans in each room. The wood stove can be fired up on cooler evenings and the heat produced is plumbed to the radiators in the bedrooms and towel rails in the bathrooms.

LOCATION
Fides on Kangaroo Beach and Snug Hills House are hidden away in the secluded north-west corner of Kangaroo Island.
If you are arriving on the island by ferry, the lodge is approximately 90minutes drive from the terminal in Penneshaw.
If you are flying into Kingscote, the lodge is 60minutes by road from the airport.

Part of the charm of the lodge is its isolation, but this means that there are no restaurants/shops in close proximity; you will find an IGA supermarket at Penneshaw or a Foodland at Kingscote. For forgotten essentials, there is also a small store in Parndana (the closest town to the lodge - 40min drive) that stocks the basics like milk & bread etc.
PLEASE NOTE: Fides on Kangaroo Beach and Snug Hills House are located on private land and you will need to meet the property caretaker at the Homestead prior to being escorted to the lodge.
